The Kings and Queens of Speed
With the exception of birds, cheetahs are the fastest creatures on earth. They can cover over 20 feet with each leap.
Cheetahs can reach 60 mph in 3 seconds.
Cheetahs can reach a speed of 71 miles per hour (no other land animal can beat a cheetah!). The Natural History Magazine, in 1974, reported its top speed to be 70 mph.

Due to their speed, the average time it takes a cheetah to catch its prey is about 20 seconds. They normally stalk their prey until they are about 20 feet away.

An adult cheetah weighs between 80 and 150 pounds and reaches the height of 2-2.8 feet.
Male cheetahs stay in groups, females remain alone.
A cheetah lives between 10-12 years.
